“Lets burn food in our cars” really is jarring to the ears, isn’t it? It’s like “Let’s burn money to heat our house!”

Wait. We basically are doing that, aren’t we? Snap.

Isn’t ethanol subsidized? “Let’s burn food in our cars!! Yay!”

When it comes time to actually pay out of your own pocket is when you decide whether or not you really believe in a cause, which his why I believe in a much smaller government. I don’t happen to believe in a lot of things that we are currently bankrolling.

I’m just waiting for a moonbat to say “Let’s subsidize fuel costs!” And then people will say “Yeah that is a GREAT idea!” and no one will say “Uh… the money is still coming out of your pocket in taxes dude.” At least no one that will be listened to.

I’ve read some stuff elsewhere about therories that oil isn’t really a “fossil” fuel at all. The earth makes it from natural methane under high heat and pressure at the mantle and making new pockets of oil or refilling old ones if the geology is still conducive to doing so.

Anyway, I find it amusing to hear liberals howl about high fuel prices, when they’ve been the ones saying our fuel prices have been too low for years and that we should be paying more like the Europeans do.

Oil sands are prevalent in Canada if I understand it right. I get confused how some people (hystericals) talk about only 50 years left of oil or less, when there several hundred years of power alone just in those sands and in oil shale.

There is zero reason for oil to be this high. There’s actually a surplus. The cost is being driven purely by market speculation regarding how much it is going to cost today to replace what we use come tomorrow. In a crazy every-which-way world like right now, idiot investors rule the day and there are no laws that say they have to use informed decision making. They get to go by emotions and hunches if they want to.

If you want to make money and I mean really make money, start investing in wheat and rice, predominantly wheat.

One of the advantages of the price of oil being ARTIFICIALLY inflated is that it is funding something that the industry has had to put off for some time: research. Try googling “oil sands” and “gas-to-liquids”, and that’s just for starters. New technologies are being realized that were never explored due to the low investment return, and those new processes are going to drive the price back down to more manageable levels. Also what this has done is allow for the industry to look in new directions AWAY FROM OPEC, like the Balkan Islands and Canada.

i don’t want to shew up your comments section with a massive diatribe on this (and I could go on and on and on and….) but just trust me that the increased price of petrol is a good thing.

Another point on this and I’ll stop: Have you noticed that now nuclear is not such a bad word anymore? I wonder why…
