Slept around 5:30. Got up just before 10am. Drugged again. Neck is there and telling me it is not happy with me.
update: Nor am I happy with my neck, the goshdamned thing. But I’m eating lots of chilies to keep the endorphine level high and icing my neck on top of meds, so I should be ok.
I stole this graphic from a guy who stole it from a guy…

I love dogs. I love cats, too (got a ton of recipes for them). But dogs I like because they just love to be with us.
They can do many cool things, too.
This is a teaser to get you to go look at the other dogs in that link above.
I don’t think I’ve ever pet my chihuahuas and had them end up like this.

Blah. Sorry to hear about the hurt-i-ness. Hope it stops soon. My cats must be part dog then. They absolutely have to just be in whatever room you are in, if at all possible at the center of your attention in your lap. I like dogs, I just can’t/won’t commit to walking them every day. Plus I like big dogs and they will 1) break my heart because they have shorter lifespans than small dogs and 2) I don’t have a big place for them to run. I have a big yard, yeah, but I don’t like seeing the big dogs in the neighborhood always in their yards. I think doggies need to run. Ah, well. Someday when I get fed up and move to an isolated compound somewhere…
LK, I’m hoping this surgery will do the trick for ya!
After all, opiates should be for occasional recreational use only! Not as a matter of…ew…medical necessity!
I am so glad the cactus-finger is making the rounds. It needed to….
BTW, that man in the cactus photo has NEVER petted his chihuahuas.
Eh, I named my cat Cat the Jake for the simple fact that he is very much like a dog. Jake is a dog name I think. He wags his tail like a dog, leaps up off of his hind legs greeting me like a dog would…however, his meow – he peeps like a titmouse. I tease him about that often, too.
Dude, sorry you’re all laid up. I’ve had some painful back and spinal issues, but enver anything requiring surgery, at least not yet.
Good luck in healing. Hey, isn’t capsaicin a universal elixer?
That’s one peculiar cat all right. The wagging when he’s happy is hilarious. You sure he didn’t imprint a dog as a kitten?
Thanks Grackle – luckily this is a stick-a-needle-in-and-turn-up-the-juice kind of thing, not actual surgery. Less invasive the better, I say.
I’ve been eating chilies on a regular basis with just that thought in mind. By Sat morning, however, I had smoked out my insides so much that I had ongoing hiccups and gas for 36 hours straight. I’ll stick with painkillers. Using as little of those as possible though.
