Bill Gets Cranky
Not much to report since last night. Did see something really interesting on the way to work however.
In Michigan, it’s not a question of whether or not you’ll have potholes after a winter, it’s a question of how much bigger they’re gonna get. While passing the Nine Mile Crater (Latin name = Mare Ginormus), I saw an aerial flare set off from somewhere inside – no doubt the SOS of a hapless (or unobservant/stupid) traveler. I couldn’t see either him or the vehicle so that should give you an indication of the size of the hole. Then again, bumper-2-bumper traffic cruisin’ at 80, sometimes you miss things. There’s this one trucker, hit 5 deer at the same time, he ate venision burgers for a month (low-fat and pre-ground, don’cha know). Sometimes it’s a good thing to not miss them, is my point.
Ooops. Back to work. (sound of Devo “workin’ in the coal mine” builds slowly)
Well I been workin’ in a coal mine
Goin’ down down
Workin’ in a coal mine
Whew about to slip down
Five o’clock in the mornin’
I’m up before the sun
When my work day is over
I’m too tired for havin’ fun
Lord I am so tired
How long can this go on
I been workin’ goin’ workin’
Whew about to slip down
Until later –
