Walls have been torn down, electrification has been improved, half-walls of sheetrock has gone up, and we merely wait to fill the walls this weekend with light and fluffy gossamer down, mixed with goose feathers from foie gras geese and leftover fur from clubbed harp seals.
In the meantime, the kitten is growing, and she is a delightful little lady.
Kids are good and my daughter is displaying a wicked sense of sarcasm – AND – she watched LOtTR with me. Pics tomorrownig of the remodel, of the kitten, and of a giant mirror (my precious).
Man, you’re going first-class with the insulation!
I was just gonna put baby barn owl feathers into my sound-deadening wall I’m building (to block HVAC noise from the rest of the basement). They’re readily available around here.
I initially intended to use ancient mummy-wrap linen but US customs balked at the material shipment.
Barn owl… nice. I hear you can get R22 out of them. Bet it is a real hoot blowing those feathers into your walls.
I was going to make a mummy joke but after sitting there for a bit I conceded that I’ve got nothin’.
With or without the original filler, McGoo?
Yes, R22 is typical, but I prefer the barn owl feathers because they are so quiet!
