This is rather toothless in terms of action. Reeks planning to pour oil into an engine with a cracked block every time you fill up.
While President Obama is focused on getting money to friendly-ish Syrian rebels, Congress is increasingly demanding he take more steps to stop militant fighters from coming to the U.S. by stripping Americans of their passports if they join the fight and by suspending countries that have large contingents of foreign fighters from the Visa Waiver Program.
But counterterrorism officials say they are far more concerned that an ISIS militant will enter the United States the same way millions of people do each year: legally, on a commercial flight. Their efforts have focused on the more than 2,000 Europeans and 100 Americans who have traveled to Syria to fight alongside extremist groups, nearly all of them crossing over its unprotected borders. Without markings in their passports to show that they traveled to Syria, American border authorities have few ways of determining where they were and stopping them from entering the country.
And if they come here across the Mexican border authorities will have nearly 100% certainty of checking those visas to see if terrorists went to Syria. Good call, guys. Good call.
That’s all I can write, this whole scenario is making me nauseous.

Update: Lemurita has not chiseled off my toe. It may be worth saving.
Welp, I saw my regular doc as the followup to the “I”m tired of this” urgent care visit last weekend.
See, every morning I got up and it would seem better, and I’d think “What was I thinking last night? This clearly isn’t as bad as it seemed then” and then I’d be glad I didn’t see anyone. But by the end of each day I’d be sucking wind and it would be swollen as bad as the day before and I would think “What was I thinking? Was I brain dead?”
Long story short I saw a doc Saturday who said my toe was broken and who was ok with me asking for the lesser pain med route because Tylenol was amazingly inadequate. The other stuff was also amazingly inadequate. It was about as effective as an ear massage. I followed up Monday with my doc and she opted for sending me to the ortho guy.
She said “Look, I know you don’t want to take heavier pain meds but you are clammy and sweaty and you obviously are in pain… you have a broken foot. You are walking on it.”
I didn’t struggle as hard as I would have last week. I obviously can’t work effectively in a medicated state but it helps in the evening.
The ortho guy said there was nothing to be done for it. Totally unsurprised by his statement because it was pretty much what I said to his nurse: I don’t know why I am here because you cannot do much for this… I said, “Great, I am happy about that. What I could use is something that is not a cast that can immobilize my foot so I can walk on it.”
Entertheboot. $80 got me something far better than the paddle flip flop thing, which isn’t saying a whole lot because a piece of McDonald’s breakfast sausage is a step up from the flip-flop. And it has these pumpy-ports to clamp on the heel and support it.
I won’t lie, it isn’t the answer to a pain-free hobbling because it does clamp down on the toes. But it is far far far far far far better than the buddy taping I tried last week, and it keeps the toes from flexing back and forth as you walk. That is a huge step.

Saw this guy on the MugTome interwebnetsite.
Paul Smith has more grace in his smallest fart than I have in my entire body.
I could probably use a good ass-kicking for my crappy attitude.

Think of the post title as proof of life, showing that Lemur King lives.
Brother McGoo expressed concern that I might be dead or not-very-alive and I wanted to make sure that such fears were put to rest.
Labor Day weekend was beyond awesome – we spent the weekend with Cruel Wife’s sister, Material Girl and her husband, Lyrical Wrench. And we saw our many nieces (3x) and nephews (2x). I can honestly say it was the most relaxed I have been all year. They are awesome people. Ask Cruel Wife, I do not offer praise like that lightly.
It was marred only by the breakage of my big toe on my left foot. I got up from the couch, turned, and made my way to go upstairs.
Two rapid steps later I was flying across the room, seemingly about to do a face plant into a wall. My foot had stopped stone cold and my body continued onward.
I stubbed my toe hard enough to tear toenail, make my toe go numb, and render it useless for walking on and unable to bend. It is still that way four days later. I hate doctors so I am not decided on going to get it checked out or not. Still hurts like a mofo and it feels like walking on a shard of glass when I put pressure on it.
It will be better soon. Or fall off.
