Update from The Patriot Post:

You know what is more annoying than the orange below?

A president who doesn’t know how to pronounce rank titles in the very military organizations he is CiC over…

Obama Calls Navy Corpsman a ‘Corpse-man’

At the National Prayer Breakfast Thursday, the commander in chief not only got a sailor’s name wrong, but couldn’t figure out how to pronounce “corpsman.” Yes, he said “corpse-man.”

****

In emulation of the orange below… Al Gore.  Hey  Al Gore.  Al Gore… Hey Al Gore… Al Gore… Hey Al Gore… Al Gore… Hey Al Gore…  Orange you sad Climate Change is such a farce?

A three-person board of inquiry cleared Mann of three of four charges brought by the university that he falsified or tried to destroy data, and recommended further study on the fourth charge that his methods “deviated from accepted practices” of the scientific community.

They wrote in their report that “that there exists no credible evidence that Dr. Mann had ever engaged in, or participated in, directly or indirectly, any actions with intent to delete, conceal or otherwise destroy e-mails, information and/or data.”  – Fox News

From the report, the contributors consisted of:

  • Henry C. Foley, Ph.D.
Vice President for Research and Dean of the Graduate School
  • Alan W. Scaroni, Ph.D.
Associate Dean for Graduate Education and Research,
College of Earth and Mineral Sciences
  • Ms. Candice A. Yekel, M.S., CIM,
    Director, Office for Research Protections
    Research Integrity Officer

The investigatory committee was proclaimed by the report writers to have “impeccable credentials”.

Hardly unbiased since who would want to rat on someone in their own institution?  Do you really think the VP for Research, the Dean for Graduate Research, and the Office for Research Protections are going to want improprieties around them to be brought to light?

Outlined in the paper, based on accusations surrounding the leaks, they synthesized allegations (sounds a lot like homogenization of data, doesn’t it?) which boiled down to questions:

1. Did you engage in, or participate in, directly or indirectly, any actions with the intent to suppress or falsify data? 2 | P a g e
RA-10 Inquiry Report: Case of Dr. Michael E. Mann February 3, 2010
2. Did you engage in, or participate in, directly or indirectly, any actions with the intent to delete, conceal or otherwise destroy emails, information and/or data, related to AR4, as suggested by Phil Jones?
3. Did you engage in, or participate in, directly or indirectly, any misuse of privileged or confidential information available to you in your capacity as an academic scholar?
4. Did you engage in, or participate in, directly or indirectly, any actions that seriously deviated from accepted practices within the academic community for proposing, conducting, or reporting research or other scholarly activities?

To which Mann obviously said “Uh… Nope.”  And that should be good enough for anyone, right?

You figure it out.
