Shocking.

Sorry there hasn’t been a lot of stuff posted lately.  Been working very late hours.  I have been working on a graphic for cbullitt which piques my interest because I’m having to learn a lot to do it.  We’ll see how it turns out.

But real quick…

If Bush had done this there would have been calls for crucifixion.  Obama announces plan for offshore drilling.

I still say the prudent thing to do is use OTHER people’s resources, even at a higher price and preserve local resources.  I take the LONG view of petroleum usage…  and there’s no telling when you may need resources that are blocked off everywhere else.

Just sayin’.

I’m SHOCKED.

It looks bad.  I’m not surprised.  How are they going to spin this, I wonder?  Perhaps they’ll flip and say “Well, we guess our data was better after all because obviously global warming is real.”  I mean, just look at polar bear rings and drowning trees for proof.

NASA Data Worse Than Climate-Gate Data, Space Agency Admits

E-mail messages obtained by a Freedom of Information Act request reveal that NASA concluded that its own climate findings were inferior to those maintained by both the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) — the scandalized source of the leaked Climate-gate e-mails — and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s National Climatic Data Center.

The e-mails from 2007 reveal that when a USA Today reporter asked if NASA’s data “was more accurate” than other climate-change data sets, NASA’s Dr. Reto A. Ruedy replied with an unequivocal no. He said “the National Climatic Data Center’s procedure of only using the best stations is more accurate,” admitting that some of his own procedures led to less accurate readings.

“My recommendation to you is to continue using NCDC’s data for the U.S. means and [East Anglia] data for the global means,” Ruedy told the reporter.

And then…

“The different groups have cooperated in a very friendly way to try to understand different conclusions when they arise,” said Dr. James Hansen, head of NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies, in the same 2007 e-mail thread. Earlier this month, in an updated analysis of the surface temperature data, GISS restated that the separate analyses by the different agencies “are not independent, as they must use much of the same input observations.”

A “very friendly way” is a nice way of saying “we colluded to support each other”.

With his lower lip stuck out and a petulant glare, Dr. Lovelock gave a snippy interview with The Guardian.

“I don’t think we’re yet evolved to the point where we’re clever enough to handle a complex a situation as climate change,” said Lovelock in his first in-depth interview since the theft of the UEA emails last November. “The inertia of humans is so huge that you can’t really do anything meaningful.”

Yet individuals such as himself are enlightened beyond the rest of us 6 billion people with vastly inferior minds.  Good for you, doc.  Go blow a goat.

You, Constant Reader, will help decide what goes in the middle of this front page article…  I am currently taking suggestions.  Anything that mocks AGW and the BedWetters.

Later… And a happy nod to cbullitt for his contribution (read the “New Study” article).

Also, the “Nostradamus” quote is something I read in Gary Sutton’s article on The Fiction of Climate Science.

Can you get any luckier than this?  I think not.

Does anyone here shed a tear for a gambler who says the casino’s are at fault (a “plot”, he says) when he has gambled away $127 MILLION dollars?

I stopped over at Weasel’s place (Weasel Times – sweasel.com) and I realize Weas is stealing it from elsewhere but it’s just the way she said it… made my shoot tea out my nose.  She said:

I am totally stealing “I am so far passed f*cked, it would take take the light from f*cked 10 years to reach me.”

Ok, so let’s say for the sake of argument – if the hacker that exposed ClimateGate did indeed find incontrovertible proof that this AGW stuff is all a terrible lie, does Gore have to give back his Oscar?

For fun, this was a real block of ice in a real pottery shop in Japan.  Kyoto, to be exact.  There’s a convoluted joke there, but I guess it isn’t a joke if you have to point it out like I just did.  Ahem.

Apparently Obama is ignoring ClimateGate ahead of this gathering of the UN in Copenhagen.  Good news tho – Hookers are providing free services.

That’s NOTHING compared to the utter screwing all of us are going to get at the hands of these power-hungry cronies.

Nothing says “Hey dude, have a great Christmas” quite as much as an Official Enas Yorl Hotsauce Thneed™.  Now my hot sauce will never get chilly.

Thanks Enas!  Your gift is on it’s way this week.

Notice the bear in the background, slowly edging towards the hot sauce with a pink tongue?  Bad move.  Now we have the stench of charred stuffy animal throughout the house.

I am no stranger to Dave’s Insanity Sauce™.  For those who are not familiar, let me read the side of the bottle to you:

A great cooking ingredient for sauces, soups, and stews.  Also, strips waxed floors and removes driveway grease stains.

It is true.

Years ago I was eating some – I had poured it into a bowl and was eating tortilla chips while watching Monk.  I said to myself “Ok, don’t forget to put that away later.”  Then I went to bed, asking Cruel Wife if I could sleep in.

That morning the bedroom door was violently kicked in, there was the screaming of my wife and the shrieking of my little girl who was a toddler at the time.  She had found the bowl and dipped her hand in the sauce.  It burned her sensitive skin so she did what toddlers do and put her hand in her mouth.

So here is a baby who now has burned fingers, a mouth on fire, is flailing around and we’re trying to hose her off in the shower before she can get it in her eyes.

She shrieked for 30 minutes.  Nonstop.

I was told later that I was a particular shade of green.  I wanted to step in front of a bus.

Now in the present, it is one of life’s greatest joys to make up a batch of peanut butter cookies with a teaspoon of this mixed in and take them to work.  I set them on the table outside of my office and wait for the sounds of “Oh My GOD!” and running footsteps.  It’s the small pleasures in life…

Thanks Enas!

Sorry but Babs Boxer takes a backseat to this particular entry.  Look below for discussion on her particular psychological dysfunction.

This mini-post is about my current intellectual erection.  This is so cool I’m going to run out and buy cigarettes just for that “after sex” feeling.

Shapeways 3D Printing

I do solid modeling daily – every day in my work.  I also love to raytrace/render as a hobby along with graphics in general.  So when I saw this site which allows you to upload your 2-manifold models and have them “printed” then cast in stainless or ABS and other plastics my brain went SCHWING!!!!

I’m going to post an image to whet your appetite – go to their site and see what they can do.  Think of it as free advertising, Shapeway.  I’ll take the image down if you like but I’m plugging for you guys.  The piece below is by Bathsheba and there’s other stuff by Bathsheba Grossman here.

Is this not one of the coolest damn things you've seen in a long time?

I know I can use Solidworks and it looks like Blender3D can be used as well (it outputs STL files).

Babs gets knocked out again.

Remember last week, the government panel of “experts” that ruled that mammograms for women under 50 were not recommended?

Here’s their apology today:

The task force, made up of doctors and scientists, acknowledged the way in which the recommendations were released wasn’t done very smoothly — and the timing wasn’t great either, right in the middle of a heated debate on health care.

I beg to differ.  It is the PERFECT time to put out recommendations because they just gave us a taste of what is going to happen if this “health care reform” is passed – essentially the gov’t making all kinds of stupid decrees like this as they ration off all sorts of things that they aren’t really experts on.  Had they actually been experts in this field they would not have come to that conclusion.

It was the perfect time.  I couldn’t have asked for a better time.

The ever-so-enlightened queen moonbat of the libtards has spoken.  I’m actually somewhat surprised because I thought not even she would utter something this stupid.

Boxer … said that the recently released e-mails, showing scientists allegedly overstating the case for climate change, should be treated as a crime.

“You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate,'” she said during a committee meeting. “Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not? I’m looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public.”

Projection by proxy?  What the hell do you call her stance beyond “weird”?

Certainly shows a huge lack of ability to put competing issues in proper perspective.  On one had we have a whistleblower who hacked a guy’s computer.  On the other hand we have “a guy” and his cohorts who systematically alter, fabricate, massage, delete, and misconstrue data as well as like to cover it up, and then they go on to ride a gravy train while convincing most of the rest of the world – those that are unable to think for themselves, that is – that the world is going to end in a ball of flame and lots of warm water.

All at the expense of literally trillions of dollars, entire economies altered, many many jobs lost.

Yeah, I guess figuring out a guy’s password is a pretty damn big deal.
