Update: If you’re prayin’ folk, Haiti could sure use it.  That’s some serious hurt down there.  3M out of the country’s 9M people in need of aid, initial (sometimes wild) estimates of 100K dead, fires, collapsed schools (heartbreaking), and hospitals collapsed.  Bad bad bad.

Updated, and I am happy with it.

If you want this as a badge, your suggestions are kind of critical, IMHO.

Here’s v0.3, a quick update of it:

Preview it in my sidebar below…

On to moronitude. One test concept to throw out.  Some kind of banner would be a good goal, but…  not sure whether it should be self-mocking or a real slam on liberals of all stripes who think that if they say something enough times it will be true (think: Nothing will happen if we cap executive salaries at AIG and they’ll learn a hard lesson).

The democrats seem to be following “The Chicago Way”.

If you can’t believe Pravda, who can you believe?

Sheep Gives Birth to Human-Faced Lamb in Turkey.

Better than “Turkey gives birth to sheep-faced human” I guess.

You just can’t find good ads like this anymore.

Before feminazis everywhere descend upon me like a swarm of venomous locusts, remember that Cruel Wife laughs at this stuff and knows that I don’t mean it.  If she thought for a second that I really meant it… let’s just say she’d wait until I was asleep and go probing around my brainpan with a phillips screwdriver.

But, it is draining.  Slowly.  In some places, just not California.  Let’s hope the lancing wasn’t too late and was deep enough to do some good.

Note:  Please don’t e:mail me about the missing ‘r’ in ‘anthropomorphic’.  I know it isn’t there, and when I tried fixing it, somehow I still saved the wrong version.  Too late to do it again tonight.  I’ll fix it tomorrow night.

As much as I love the Danes, being a goodly chunk Danish by ancestry, after this AGW thing which still leaves a nasty infected feeling in my mouth, I tend to emphasize the German side of my heritage.  I mean, crap, what the hell were they thinking?

Proof that our country is toast.

James Cameron’s completely immersive spectacle “Avatar” may have been a little too real for some fans who say they have experienced depression and suicidal thoughts after seeing the film because they long to enjoy the beauty of the alien world Pandora. On the fan forum site “Avatar Forums,” a topic thread entitled “Ways to cope with the depression of the dream of Pandora being intangible,” has received more than 1,000 posts from people experiencing depression and fans trying to help them cope.

If this isn’t one of the most truly pathetic things I’ve read in a long time…

Perhaps it was over at Aardvarks and Asshats or Soylent Green, but sometime last week someone mentioned listening to idjits like AlGore.  I had said I’d try to dig up a photo where I had to be in DC and was strongarmed into not leaving the luncheon as Sen. Kerry came in to speak.  I had thought it was AlGore but it was Ketchup hisself.  See what old age gets you?  A memory like a sieve.

Here’s me, expressing my joy at being there and basking in his glow.  To be fair, he’s not a bad speaker if you don’t listen too carefully, otherwise I’d have blown chunks all over my colleagues.

Every now and then a poll catches my eye.  I usually hate them.

Rasmussen says 57% would vote entire congress out.

Vote against the incumbent this next cycle.  Get them out of here.   Even if 50% of the wankers were voted out it would strike fear into the hearts of these arrogant politicians.  Just think about the sickening rate at which they are spending your money – and even worse is health-care.

You really believe they work for you?  Well, they don’t, so vote them out.

They have allowed this mess to exist.  Our country should not be in business to take from some people and give to others.  It just doesn’t work.  And it is pathetic as well.

Most folks say “We hate congress” but in the same breath utter some mindless sentence:  “But our rep/senate congress-critter is satisfactory.”   But they aren’t!  If you are a congress-critter and you truly believe that things need to change you’d be shouting it to the rooftops.

Update:

They also do many things that would get your or I fired.

Kennedy and Obama – made for each other.

Rangel is as brazen as they come.

Cruel Wife claims I made a bad joke.

Franken-boy came to me with an “L” made out of a flexible plastic sheet.

I folded the long leg over and twisted it to form a “D”.  I asked him what it was and he said “A D!!!”

I said “Yep, we have just performed a text-change operation.”

Well I thought it was funny.

Update #3: Cruel Wife turns 40!  Might have been last week, but she sure the hell is 40 today.  The plan is to go get Moroccan sea bass, lamb & couscous, and perhaps a lobster bisque.

Ooops.  Wrong picture.  Happy Birthday CW!!!   Smeep.

Update 1: Paying Gitmo Detainees to Live on US Soil.

All this talk of shipping them off to other countries is just terrible.
hey deserve to be here, they’ve paid their dues.

Announce three days ahead of time that a train will pull through a certain area of the desert (away from any solar power farm), at GPS coordinates XXX-XXX-XXX and make one stop, letting off 240 free men.

People who would like to wish them well in their new life in the US may show up promptly at 12pm to greet them.

Could someone tell me what the f*ck it is with this guy?  We gotta help the economy we gotta help the ec0nomy we gotta help the economy… and then he turns right around and shoots it in the ass with a huge silver bullet treated with cyanide.

Why not raise taxes and spending, too, while we’re at it?  Ooops.

So finally Congress stops worrying about AIG, the economy, tax simplification, the budget, and all that silly-assed stuff and gets right to work on how college football rankings are chosen.

WASHINGTON (AP) – Everyone from President Barack Obama on down to fans has criticized how college football determines its top team. Now senators are getting off the sidelines to examine antitrust issues involving the Bowl Champion Series. The current system “leaves nearly half of all the teams in college football at a competitive disadvantage when it comes to qualifying for the millions of dollars paid out every year,” the Senate Judiciary’s subcommittee on antitrust, competition policy and consumer rights said in a statement Wednesday announcing the hearings.

Yep.  Gettin’ closer to the time to drain the swamp.  Yessirrrrreeeee.

Damn.  They decided to return to worry about things that they ought not worry about

The House Financial Services Committee on Thursday adopted a milder alternative to a bill passed last week that would have taxed away 90 percent of employee bonuses from companies getting federal bailout money. The new legislation would let bailed-out companies pay bonuses as long as the government determines the compensation is not “unreasonable or excessive.”

Soooo, if a particular minor player in congress later decides (while they are PMS’ey or have “little man’s syndrome”) that they want to get pissy about a particular company, they can decide that some compensation is in this case unreasonable or excessive.

In this imperfect universe I am unable to stop thinking about AIG.  Congress and their punitive taxation.  And how many people have no idea what constitutional intents really were.  The lynch mob to take out AIG (including congress) ought to read this:

“The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy.”

Benjamin Franklin, Emblematical Representations, circa 1774
