We drove a great distance at great risk to ourselves – we risked the odds of fires, floods, pestilence, earthquakes, tsunamis, teeming hordes of rabid skunks – all so we could go to the distant town of Brighton to see Michelle Malkin speak.

It was a packed crowd for the region it was in, and I’d estimate two to three thousand easily.  Cold, blustery, the kids whined in our ears even as the wind roared through them.

Cruel Wife and I had been talking about Tea Party and Lemurita wanted to know what that was about.  We described the original Tea Party and how there are some similarities and what the Tea Party means now.

I had taught Lemurita on the way up the nasty habit of redistribution of wealth by putting it in terms of getting an A that you worked hard on and giving 30 points to a kid who didn’t make the right choices and didn’t work as hard.  When MM talked about redistribution of wealth my daughter booed.  I am so proud.

MM said two things that stick in my head – one was her utter disgust with the cries of racism.  She held up her hand and said “What?  I’m darker than [Obama] is!”   And then she talked about inoculating our children against the attempts to indoctrinate them, saying “No, we need to to instill self-control… self-DISCIPLINE…”  Oh, a third thing stuck in my head… “women, we will be voting with our brain parts.”

It was a very quiet well-behaved crowd that politely cheered when she or Theyrone X had something good to say, booed the policies that anger any conservative, and in general was unfailingly polite to one another.  There were no beatings, no rapes, no shootings, no screaming matches, no hecklers, no public intoxication, no public urination, no obnoxious signs and counter rallies going on nearby.  It was like any Tea Party gathering – one of concerned citizens that are more than a little tired of the government thinking we work for them and not the other way around.

MM even mentioned HomeSec at one time tracking Tea Partiers because of the dangerous element they represent.  Well track me silly fellas.  You’ll get bored really fast.

And while waiting for a sign to put in my front yard I got to pet two Pugs, which were a hoot.

Tea Party Zombies

Update:  Apologies to those who have fallen victim to a spam comment bot that is getting through Akismet on this blog.  I am checking back often to catch them early.

Some people may get upset at the idea of Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachmann, Hannity, etc. being used in a Tea Party Zombies Must Die violent video game, but I can think of no higher badge of honor than to be hated enough by libs that you warrant your own zombie.

They need a virulent diseased Lemur King in there, is what they need.

The graphic, offensive, and violent game was created by StarvingEyes Advergaming but does not have any obvious connection to or advertisement for any other group.

Oh, but I bet you $20 that if you dig enough, you’ll find backers for it.  The rooms and settings don’t look bad but the kablooey shots when a zombie is dispatched is old crummy graphics, way behind the times.  It’s like a combination between Doom3 and Doom2.  Anyone know what game engine was used there?  It looks familiar.

Anyway, complaints that this is offensive are just ridiculous.  It’s a game.  Tasteless, yes, offensive, no.  Incite violence?  Nah, that argument doesn’t work when stacked up against all the violent vid games out there.

They ought to get some shots of Hannity, Palin, Bachmann, and Beck drinking brews (or Dr. Peppers) and sitting around playing the game and laughing at it’s ridiculousness.  Best F-U that I can possibly think of.

All I can say is it is about time someone other than me has this problem.  Really, it’s all I can say.  The court gag order on the settlement is pretty strict.

I have heard of beer gardens, but apple cider gardens is a new one on me.

Sorry, but even one count of espionage should elicit a death sentence.  NASA scientist sells secrets to FBI agents posing as Israelis.

By the way, meant to post this right around Christmas.  Doesn’t this look awesome?

It needs no caption.

Ok, no.  It was gross.  It was worse than gross.  Drinking every last drop took a lot of willpower.  I refuse to waste Red Bull ™ .

My well-wishes go out to Congresswoman Gifford and her family and all the other shooting victims.

Her father was asked if she had any enemies.

Ms Giffords’s father Spencer, 75, wept when asked if his daughter had any enemies. ‘Yeah,’ he said. ‘The whole Tea Party’ – the Right wing of the Republican Party.

I’d really appreciate it, however, if people would stop demonizing the Tea Party.  If some perspective would be looked for, it could clearly be seen that a Tea Party member is by and large very concerned for his or her country and doesn’t condone shooting of politicians.

Second misconception is that a Tea Party member by definition identifies themselves as Republican.  Not even close, bud.  I’m a Federalist/Libertarian.  Frankly the Republican Party makes jellyfish and sea-cucumbers look as if they were bedrock and full of resolve.  Until they prove different, I’m going to continue to consider the Republican Party a bunch of Melvins.  Reading the Constitution was an awesome first step but the journey of a thousand miles starts with but a single step.  Keep going and maybe down the road I’ll be impressed but I’ll always be a constitutional constructionist, regardless.

Yes, this guy is upset, and I understand that as a father, but you don’t really say things in times of stress or drunk that you don’t feel normally – sorry but it doesn’t happen.

It’s still more evidence that the liberal side of the equation doesn’t understand the Tea Party any more than the average Republican.

As for the gunman, Jared Loughner, well, he’ll either get help he needs or be locked up, preferably both.  If he had a problem with her he should have addressed his problem with her.

Here’s how I look at it – if someone wants to shoot me, ok, it should start and end there.  But if he shoots me and then goes after innocent people around me, well, put him down like a rabid dog.  This guy killed a 9 year old girl.  Inexcusable.

Good luck, Mrs. Giffords and the others that were shot.  True Tea Party members care and would never rejoice in what has happened.
