The Balls of a Tiger.

I don’t feel I need to say much here other than that the guy is a hero, has the balls of a tiger, and deserves some serious public recognition.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.  John 15:13

So, here it is…

A New Jersey roofer jumped into a vat of nitric acid solution to save a co-worker who had fallen 40 feet into the tank, fire officials said.

Rob Nuckols, 51, was working on the ground floor Monday morning at Swepco Tube LLC when his colleague Martin Davis plunged through a roof and into the vat of diluted acid and became fully submerged, officials said.

He jumped into the vat and was waist-high while he and three others pulled Davis out… [the] vat contained a 40 to 70 percent nitric acid solution used for cleaning metal tubing.

Rescue workers arrived after five minutes… Nuckols had already rinsed himself off.

Davis is in critical condition with a broken rib, punctured lung, and burns on his legs and side, a relative said.

Nuckols was treated for burns on his legs and abdomen. The three other roofers were taken to hospitals but there was no sign that they were seriously injured.

Tiger Woods has apologized to everyone but the garbage-collector and his dog.

But WHY?

No one was wronged in this besides his wife and family.  The mistresses don’t get to count – they knew he was married.

As for his marriage, he said: “Every one of these questions and answers is a matter between Elin and me, issues between a husband and wife.”

And so should your apologies.  The corporations which cancelled contracts with him, perhaps he should apologize for his conduct where it reflects badly on them.  But that is it.

No one else is entitled to an apology, an explanation, or even to know the facts.  He did nothing wrong besides to his wife.

And a big Boo-Hoo for the mistress/porn-actress:

Veronica Siwik-Daniels, one of Woods’ alleged mistresses and a former pornographic performer, watched the event with her attorney in a Los Angeles radio studio. She said she wants an apology for the unwanted attention the scandal has brought her.

“I really feel I deserve to look at him in person face to face in the eyes because I did not deserve this,” she said.

Ma’am, you cheated with a married man.  You are the last one to deserve an apology.  We should all live our lives such that if our actions were exposed to the light of day we’d have nothing to be ashamed of.  That you did not do, and it is your fault.

WTF?  PANDA porn???

At some point, shouldn’t animals be allowed to go extinct?  I’d think this was a pretty sure-fire sign.

Ah!  Home sweet home.  Sorta.   Maybe.  No, not really.

Man bulldozes home to keep bank from foreclosing on it.

Good for him.

Update 2:  I. Am. In. Awe.  Over at Moonbattery is an awesome kickbutt satire magazine cover graphic.  Oh golly, is it good.

****

Update:  NOT WORTHLESS.  You know how Obama keeps placing the blame for everything at Bush’s feet?  He ought to clam up – a lot of people are pining for Bush which would argue that not everyone is convinced a lot of issues don’t lie directly at Obama’s feet:

Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama’s declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they’d rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that’s somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country’s difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

Thanks for the news, Ben Smith.  This ought to cheer many.

THIS may be the most worthless ever but the title of this post refers to stuff after this graphic.  I’m probably going to catch hell for it, but satire is still free, right?

Oh, wow.  Oh geez.  Oh boy.

So…  ****ing…  What?

Gosh, Breitbart, glad you gave us yet more useless data and some scientists figured this one out:

If the data devoured in the United States last year were converted to text there would be enough books to bury the country under a pile seven feet (two meters) deep, according to a study released Wednesday.

Researchers at UC San Diego.  I would like to know if one cent of our tax dollars went to this utterly worthless information.  In the days of video on-line the information is neither surprising nor significant.

Seriously, when a study is reduced to a visual sound-bite like burying the country under seven feet of books, words can’t express how useless it really is.  Aparalyzed 18″ tail would serve me better than that knowledge.

Yeah, I’m in a foul mood today.

Geez, this out of a friggin’ mafia movie…  it’s like:

“You know, without me to protect you, who knows what kind of unfortunate thing might happen?  Then I’d feel bad that I wasn’t able to help you.”  Or, “You should think about what you want to do because I can’t guarantee what Guido here might do to your little buddy.”

Even more disturbing… “You do it like I asked you to or my daddy will talk to your daddy and then you’ll be sorry.”

Administration Warns of ‘Command-and-Control’ Regulation Over Emissions

The Obama administration is warning Congress that if it doesn’t move to regulate greenhouse gases, the Environmental Protection Agency will take a “command-and-control” role over the process in way[s] that could hurt business.

I’m bothered by the prospect of Congress getting involved in a ways that doesn’t hurt businesses.  That kind of action is rife with favors and corruption as a million little exceptions, loopholes, and incentives are dreamed up by the congress-critters.
Such as Hillary giving her favorite pollster $6M of your tax dollars to keep three employees.  Is it just me or is that suspiciously close to the amount of money she owed from her failed presidential bid?

Yesterday Harry Reid pretty much accused Republicans of being opponents of the civil rights and slavery abolition movements – which is fine except Republicans were the ones on the good-guy side. I include two excerpts from the Wall Street Journal for background.

In a remarkable statement on the Senate floor, Mr. Reid lambasted Republicans for wanting to “slow down” on health care. “You think you’ve heard these same excuses before? You’re right,” he said. “In this country there were those who dug in their heels and said, ‘Slow down, it’s too early. Let’s wait. Things aren’t bad enough’ — about slavery. When women wanted to vote, [they said] ‘Slow down, there will be a better day to do that — the day isn’t quite right. – WSJ

It was Southern Dems that were the bad guys.

Historians also faulted Mr. Reid’s curious reference to the Senate civil rights debates of the 1960s. After all, it was Southern Democrats who mounted an 83-day filibuster of the 1964 Civil Rights Bill. The final vote to cut off debate saw 29 Senators in opposition, 80% of them Democrats. – WSJ

Or as Michelle Malkin points out:

It was the GOP that fought slavery and the Democrat Party that battled to preserve it.

It’s the Democrat Party, not the GOP, that boasts an ex-Klansman among its senior leaders.

But don’t confuse Harry Reid with history while he invokes slavery to lambaste the GOP for opposing the government-run health care takeover.

Amazingly, today Reid defended his remarks:

“At pivotal points in American history, the tactics of distortion and delay have certainly been present,” Reid said. “They’ve certainly been used to stop progress. That’s what we’re talking about here. That’s what’s happening here. It’s very clear. That’s the point I made — no more, no less. Anyone who willingly distorts my comments is only proving my point.”

Now why is it whenever someone disagrees with a liberal-minded person they always jump up and down and scream that the dissenting view is wrong merely for dissenting?

Are Democrats so thin-skinned and are their stances on issue so very flimsy that their debate tactics are the adult equivalent of “I know you are but what am I?”?

How can they continue to have views that clearly aren’t shared by a lot of voters?  It’s a form of psychosis, is what it is.

It’s plain sad, is what it is.

Tiger, Tiger, Tiger… This is what you get for playing in the rough.

Or as co-worker ID10T-Killer said:  Maybe he was trying to play 18 holes?
